Limerick Township has adopted the 2015 International Fire Code (IFC) as amended, which pertains to structures, processes, premises, and safeguards as they relate to fire safety.
The Fire Marshal’s Office assists the Fire Companies in conducting Fire Prevention Programs in schools and other businesses upon request. Please contact the office with any questions or concerns.
Code Chapter 66 - Limerick Township prohibits the open burning of household, business, or industrial waste. The only exceptions are; burning to prevent or abate a fire hazard and control of disease or pest. Burning of trees, brush, twigs, branches, and other native vegetation or which said material came from and a minimum of 1 acre of property and must be 50-feet from any structure, street, or property line. The burning of leaves is no longer permitted. Contact the Fire Code Official if you have questions.
