If a violation is found during an inspection, a Fire Inspection Notice will be issued to record the type and location of the violation—if there is not a responsible party on site to receive the notice, it will be mailed to the property contact. Unless the violation poses an immediate fire, life, or safety violation, reasonable time will be granted to make the corrections.

Please be aware of fraudulent fire extinguisher servicing companies saying they were “sent by the Fire Department” to service the extinguishers. We would never send a company to service your fire extinguishers. A fire extinguisher company or a fire service company of any kind does not have enforcement powers nor the authority to demand work to be performed. Yes. Fire extinguishers with a Class K rating shall be provided for hazards where there is a potential for fires involving combustible cooking media (vegetable or animal fats; CCR Title 19).
All business occupancies, as determined by the Fire Code Official, shall be inspected at least once every 18 months for fire and life safety requirements, based on federal, state, and locally adopted codes and regulations.

If compliance has not been met after the period allotted by the initial issue of the Fire Inspection Notice, a 2nd Fire Inspection Notice will be issued; concurrently a penalty fee may be assessed to you. A subsequent recheck will be made, and if the conditions in violation are still found, a final notice will be issued by way of a Compliance Order. If conditions continue to exist, the matter will be forwarded to the District Justice office, and additional fees will be assessed. Each additional re-inspection for non-compliance will be charged as a penalty fee. The Limerick Township Fire Marshal enforces the Fire Code. Chapter 84 of Township Code. "106.5 Fire Safety Inspection Program. Inspections are required annually for all tenant spaces in a commercial occupancy." Complete a Zoning Use Permit application. Your information will be forwarded to all Township Departments and a collective response letter of items needed to operate of that location will be prepared for you. You do not need to have a lease agreement signed with the landlord for the Township to perform this service for you. The fee for the Zoning Use Permit is $100.00.

Limerick Township provides police service 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. For counter service (reports, complaints, etc.), hours are 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday through Thursday and 7:30 AM - 1:30 PM on Friday. Hours may occasionally vary due to staffing. The building is closed for counter service on weekends and all legal holidays.

Remember: Latex (water-based) paint is not a hazardous waste; taking it to a hazardous waste collection center for disposal is not an option.
If you can’t use it and you don’t want to store it, give it away. Charitable organizations, churches and the like may be happy to take it.
Don’t put latex paint still in liquid form in the trash. Allow the paint to dry out and harden before disposing of the container.

If the mailbox is protruding into the road and is hit by a plow unit, it is the responsibility of the homeowner to replace or repair. If the mailbox is installed properly and is accidentally struck by a Limerick Township Public Works plow unit, the Township will replace the damaged parts of the mailbox and/or post, however, the actual installation is the responsibility of the property owner.

The earned income tax has been levied by your resident taxing jurisdiction (i.e., the township, borough or school district in which you live). Earned income is defined as salaries, wages, commissions, bonuses, incentive payments, fees, tips and/or other compensation for services rendered, whether in cash or property, and whether paid directly to you or through an agent. In addition, the net profits of a business are subject to a net profits tax. Net profits are defined as the net income from the operation of a business, profession, or other activity, except corporations, after deductions for all operating costs and expenses incurred in conducting said business.
Income such as dividends, interest, income from trusts, bonds, insurance and stocks is exempt. Also exempt are payments for third party sick or disability benefits, old age benefits, retirement pay, pensions - including social security payments, public assistance or unemployment compensation payments made by any governmental agency, and any wages or compensation paid by the United States for active service in the armed forces of the United States including bonuses or additional compensation for such service.
