Limerick Township is a township of the second class governed by the Second Class Township Code of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

The Township is governed by a Board of Supervisors. There are five supervisors elected for year staggered terms. As the governing body, the Board of Supervisors is responsible for establishing policy, appointing board and commission, and enacting ordinances. The daily operations of the Township are administered by the Township Manager, Daniel Kerr.

The major services provided by the township include public safety, public works, building inspections, parks and recreation, and general administration. The Township currently has 70 full-time employees.
